cool - gourmet - moments of conviviality
It's soon the return of River cruise 2 hours on the Dordogne, departing from the port of Libourne – Saint-Emilion. The 2-hour cruises start on May 25 and for the entire summer season until the end of September.
Several versions exist: the commented cruise by our tour guide during the afternoon, to discover the Dordogne, its history and its secrets, the aperitif cruise, in the evening to spend a moment of conviviality, the picnic cruise on Sunday, nothing better after a trip to the market, for 2024 the electro cruise with DJ on board is also back, embark for 2 hours of dancing, singing and having fun with family or friends! And finally the one we tested for you today, the tasting cruise with producer on board (winemaker or local brewer).
So, which one tempts you the most?
We have embarked and tested for you the tasting cruise between Libourne and Vayres, with the presence of a winegrower on board, tasting of his wines and an aperitif board to share! There are around thirty of us boarding the Pibal for a departure at 18:30 p.m. On our arrival we meet Agnès, our sailor guide for these 2 hours, Remy the captain of the boat, as well as the winegrower eager to share his know-how with us!
Everything is there to spend a most pleasant time, while enjoying yourself!
With a little luck we can even come across the famous tidal wave, if this is not the case Agnès will tell us about it. She also takes us on a journey through time, telling us the history of the Dordogne, and how it now evolves according to the tides. By looking around us, we discover landscapes and species typical of the region, we learn things!
From the boat, we can of course observe the vines, several wine châteaux: the wine professional is best placed to intervene here, he tells us about the terroir, the different grape varieties, his own way of producing his wine,... and why , what could be more concrete than tasting it?
So we sit comfortably on board and listen attentively to all the secrets he loves to tell us, all while having a great time. A truly authentic and unique moment: an original way to discover the territory and the specialties that make it famous!
Remy turns around at the famous Château de Vayres, with a breathtaking view from the water, over the French gardens, and off we go again, “would you like to taste a second wine?”
We are approaching Libourne, we are starting to see the Grand Port Tower! All under the setting sun, lulled to the rhythm of the water, everyone is amazed!
