Previously based in Galgon, the local market gardeners were welcomed by the commune of Saint Denis de Pile in 2023.
Promoting biodiversity
For over nine years now, Anne Laure and Jamal have been dedicated to growing vegetables using agroecology. Their growing methods sequester carbon in the soil while producing a wide variety of products. For them, it's important to work with nature, without tilling the soil, to provide shelter and food for the microorganisms present, and to establish a true partnership with the flora and fauna.
Old varieties
Market gardeners choose varieties for their flavor. Old varieties have the advantage of carrying in their genes the many adaptations (soil and climate) acquired over the years and also show better resistance to disease. Another undeniable advantage: taste! Their flavor is sweeter and brings a unique taste to your dishes. They offer a wide variety of flavors and a multitude of nutritional benefits. These vegetables are richer in vitamins and minerals.
The desire to transmit
The couple hosts several times a year the children of Saint Denis de Pile to pass on their love for nature and biodiversity... what better way than in a market garden to watch the seedlings transform into plants, which will in turn bear fruit? Or take the time to admire the insects?
We are delighted to have been able to share our passion for market gardening with these energetic young people, and hope that this experience will have sown in them some seeds of interest in the agricultural world and the environment.
We seek balance between all living beings, humans, animals, plants, so that each has its place, without one predominating over the other.
