Today I take you to discover a place rich in discovery and rather unusual in Pays Foyen: the Micro-Madness!
It was in Sainte-Foy-la-Grande, in the premises of the Tourist Office that I was able to discover a completely digital place but which gives pride of place to the greatest masterpieces of art! This place is Micro-Madness. The Microphone… what? The Micro-Folie is a cultural facility inaugurated in 2020 that consists of a digital museum and a virtual reality space.
The digital museum consists of a giant screen and tablets and you are then immersed in the largest national and international museums in a virtual way. Have you ever been to the Louvre? Well me neither, but thanks to Micro-Madness I was able to discover the famous Mona Lisa painting in a dematerialized way! The digitization quality of the work is so perfect that it almost looks like it! In addition, thanks to the digital tablets you can then have access to explanatory content on the work, games and additional content.
Do not panic for digital refractories, the mediator is there to accompany you and explain to you the operation of the tablets, which I found relatively simple. You are then in total autonomy and you can discover works from more than 150 partner museums at your own pace!
After being immersed for a good twenty minutes in different museums, I was able to test virtual reality. Everyone, or almost, knows virtual reality today, especially for video games. But thanks to Micro-Madness, virtual reality allows you to travel in the underwater world and swim with dolphins or even visit monuments like the Cathedral of Aix-la-Chapelle! These are totally immersive 360° videos that allow you to live unique experiences around art, culture or even science!
The broadcasting program changes every 15 days and the Micro-Madness is completely free! What to enjoy a cultural break with family or friends!
