Does the carnival speak to you?

Traditionally, Carnival celebrations accompany the passage from winter to spring, from death to life: they signal the renewal of nature in exuberance, fantasy and imagination.
But the carnival today and in the popular mind is above all a party where everyone dresses up and parades in the streets in a feeling of freedom and communion with the crowd.

In Pays Foyen, this festival, which will experience its 11th edition this year, has taken the habit of taking place each year in a different municipality of the territory, thus making it possible to highlight a different village through this festive moment.
After 3 years of scarcity linked to the health crisis, this 11th Edition of the Carnival in Pays Foyen will take place this year in Saint Avit Saint Nazaire, on Sunday March 26, 2023.

An active local tissue

All the municipalities of the Pays Foyen are once again active in the development of their Char in order to amaze a very large audience expected in the village.
To date, a dozen floats are in preparation and in addition to the participation of schools from the Pays Foyen, there will also be musical troupes that will animate the festivities (Bandas, Batucada, etc.)

A well-oiled organization...

The Tanks will leave in front of the Town Hall for a course inside the village.
The organizers have planned car parks which will be made available to the public and participants.
A transport service, provided by buses, will allow residents of retirement homes and other
establishments for the elderly to go to the Carnival where locations of 1^er choice will be reserved for them.
Associations of the town will offer refreshments, catering and dessert stands throughout the day.

Radio Grand R (local radio whose premises are located in the town) will provide sound and entertainment throughout the day
Reception on the site from 10am on Sunday morning for participants. Meet at Place Marcel Duchant (former football pitch)
Closure of the streets to the public from 13:30 p.m., for securing the circuit by the Club Cibistes en Pays Foyen.
Reception from 14 p.m. of Residents of Retirement Homes as well as musical groups.
Official departure of the parade scheduled from 14:30 p.m. in front of the Town Hall for 2 laps of the circuit.

Finally, after the reading of Mr. Carnival's judgment, a snack provided by the participating municipalities will be offered to all the children.

The organizers are hoping for a large audience to take part in this festive day, with the hope of beautiful rays of sunshine!
