In the archives of Saint-Emilion, the Capdemourlin family, owner of Château Balestard La Tonnelle, has been producing wine on this soil since 1647.
Today, the 12th and 13th generation of this family are at the head of the Vignobles, a set of 3 estates. Since 2021, Château Balestard La Tonnelle can be visited and continues its rise among the essential names of the appellation thanks to its new bioclimatic cellar and its panoramic terrace perched 80 meters above the village of Saint-Emilion. Ideally located northeast of Saint-Émilion, just 10 minutes walk from the medieval city, the property is located on the clay-limestone plateau of the appellation and benefits from an exceptional terroir.
Committed to respecting the environment and traditions, Château Balestard La Tonnelle has adopted the organic farming method.
