Château Le Lau was built in 1762 by the talented architect Victor Louis (author of the Bordeaux Opera). Cradled by the Dordogne, the estate presents an unaltered biodiversity with its woods, meadows, gardens, orchard and vegetable garden, not to mention the multitude of birds and animals that live there. This magical place has inspired cinema; it is here that was shot in 1956 the film by Pierre Gaspard-Huit, the Bride was too beautiful, with Brigitte Bardot. The 9-hectare vineyard, located on the Arveyres plateau and on the hillsides along the valley, benefits from a beautiful south and south-west exposure and a temperate oceanic climate. By practicing organic farming, we strive to produce quality red wines, of a beautiful harmony and digestible with an authentic expression of Merlot; a variety that flourishes wonderfully on our fine gravelly soils!
