The start

The start is at Place du 14 Juillet, in front of the town hall (Pujols sur Dordogne castle) Go towards the war memorial and go down to the right (first exit from the roundabout). At 100m, turn right at the first house to pass behind the castle and follow the path. This place gives a view of the back of the castle and of the plain. At the end of this path, turn left and go down towards the church. You can walk around the church to admire the landscape. The church is also open, (from November to March from 9 a.m. to 17 p.m., from April to October from 8 a.m. to 18 p.m.) do not hesitate to enter to see a Merovingian sarcophagus from the XNUMXth century.

Step 1

At the stop sign, turn right to go down to the cemetery. Cross the departmental road and head towards Gueynich to admire the 700th century washhouse on the right at the bottom of the hill. A picnic table is located next to the wash house. Take the route again and go up to the place called Fourreau. In the middle of the coast, on the left, another wash house. Turn left towards Caupène, continue straight for about XNUMX m and take the grassy path which runs along the woods and then the vines.

Step 2

On leaving the woods, follow the path that turns left between the vines to join a tarmac road. After the first bend, turn right to take the path between the vines and the wood to go up to the place called Martin. After the third plot (meadow), turn left. You can see on the left, the fortified house of La Borie (private) from the XNUMXth and XNUMXth century. At the grove, go down towards the asphalt road.

Step 3

Cross the D232 secondary road and take the small road opposite. On the left, you can see another washhouse. Follow the path between the vines and Château Lacoste. At the small road, turn right then immediately left after the rows of vines. At the end of the path, turn right onto the tarmac road and follow it for about 200 m.

Step 4

Turn left at the first intersection (at the corner of the house with lavender blue shutters). Go up the small paved road to enter the wood and follow the path until the exit of the wood. On the way up, you can see treehouses in the trees, they are firing points for migrants (do not go up - private property). At the end of this path, at the very top, turn right and walk along the woods and the vines. Take the path opposite which enters the wood and follow it to a place called Lafuge, skirting the vines.

Step 5

Cross the hamlet, on the right, below, you can see a magnificent XNUMXth century washhouse with a Gironde tile background. At the corner of the house, at the stop sign, turn right then, at the next crossroads, turn left.

Step 6

At the intersection, turn into the path to the right between the vines and follow the path on the left which runs alongside the wood to catch up with the asphalt road. Continue opposite and turn left into the path between the vines and the meadow. At the electric pole, take the path on the left and go up to the asphalt road.

Step 7

At the road, turn left. At the T-junction, turn left then right towards Les Granges. Pass between the houses and take the path between the vines to catch up with the D232 road.

Step 8

At the secondary road, turn right and follow the road. When you arrive in the village of Pujols, take the street on the left (Rue de la Vieille Côté) to see below on the left, the last washhouse on the route.

Step 9

Turn right and climb the steps to arrive at Place du Général de Gaulle. Finally, turn left to reach the starting point.
