Philosophy Festival

Imagined on the model and with the support of the “Filosofia” festival of Modena in Italy, the Philosophia Festival was born in 2007 in Saint-Émilion. This European and international dimension remains an important aspect in the development of the festival. Eric Le Collen, director and scenographer, is behind the creation of this event in the heart of the medieval city of Saint-Émilion.

Organized each year on the occasion of the Ascension, Philosophia has become in a few years a major event in France for learning and transmitting knowledge. It offers a place of freedom where everyone has the opportunity to explore and deepen the subjects of reflection of their choice. Each year a new topic is discussed.

With the desire to offer everyone – connoisseurs, enthusiasts, amateurs or simply curious people – the pleasure of learning and understanding, the Philosophia festival falls between philosophical tradition and contemporary experience.

Philosophia is a joyful encounter in the heart of the vineyards of Libourne, Pomerol and Saint-Émilion. 
During the five days, many activities are organized to bring more joy to the participants: conferences, debates led by great contemporary thinkers, tastings or even meetings. 
The youngest will be able to participate in philosophy seminars on philosophy in a fun way.
