Summer is well and truly here! We were waiting for it impatiently. The weather is nice and hot, sometimes too hot… Temperatures exceed 30 degrees and climb to record highs, but what to do when it's hot? The Castillon-Pujols Territory offers a vast "playground" for all lovers of nautical activities and refreshing sessions.
Here is our selection of aquatic activities* to do when the thermometer rises...
To slide on the water and cool off: canoe, kayak, Rabaska canoe
- Canoe Castillonnais offers you the possibility of discovering the Dordogne, listed as a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 2007, during two routes of 6 or 12 km starting from Lamothe-Montravel or Pessac-sur-Dordogne. Canoe Castillonnais outings are an ideal way to combine a friendly outing with family or friends with an original discovery of the territory!

- Canoe-Kayak Club of Pessac-Sur-Dordogne offers you descents of the Dordogne in canoe-kayak (all public), discovery of a world out of time, punctuated by castles, beaches, wild fauna and flora with the possibility of picnic stops or catering in the restaurants on the edge or nearby of river.

The Quays 33890 PESSAC-SUR-DORDOGN
- Canoe-Kayak of Saint-Antoine-De-Breuilh. Located next to the bastide of Ste Foy la Grande, at the gates of Périgord, the club labeled Ecole Française de Canoë Kayak offers 9 courses on which you will discover calm, greenery, fauna and flora. Free hikes on routes of 4 to 32 km, or even 53 km over two days (possibility of camping at the club and using the toilets and kitchen).
Descent concept at dusk: 1h30 canoe descent on Thursday evenings at 18 pm with aperitif and grilled meal at the base after the ride.

- Canoeing at the Book Village. Through the bucolic landscapes of Libournais, discover the Dronne along the water. A canoe descent from Montfourat to Les Eglisottes towards the Village du Livre in Sablons. A walk for lovers or alone, or to share with family or friends. Allow between 1h30 and 3h depending on the desired route.

- Stroll along the water Rabaska canoe. Come sail on the Dordogne aboard a Rabaska canoe of Native American inspiration. This boat, 9 meters long and 1,40 meters wide, can safely transport 15 people (accessible to the disabled). Led by a river guide (state-certified instructor), you will discover the Dordogne river thanks to "The hike of the castles in Foyen country". You leave from the quay of Port-Sainte-Foy for a 12 km route along sites and beaches that invite you to swim. The guide tells you about the history and life of the valley until you reach the quay of Pessac-sur-Dordogne. The return to Port-Sainte-Foy is provided by minibus. The walk can last from 2 to 3 hours to a day.

Dive headfirst into the Dordogne River or a lake
- beach lawn. Supervised swimming in a natural environment in the Dordogne, a river classified as a UNESCO heritage site. Fitted out with pontoons and equipped with floating inflatable structures for the whole family. Relaxation area for resting and picnicking, changing rooms.

From July 24 to August 4, learn to swim at Pelouse plage. Thanks to the “Objectif nage” scheme initiated by the Department, non-swimmers aged 7 to 13 (14-17 and adults on specific request) can learn about it in complete safety. Registration is free: 06 12 59 79 45 / gironde.fr/goal-nage.
- Cadie Lake. Private beach on a lake, swimming area supervised by a lifeguard present every afternoon. Possibility to rent pedal boats and canoes. Balls, beach games available. Bar and restaurant nearby. Open from June 25 to August 28 from 10 a.m. to 19 p.m. Prices: €2 for 3-11 year olds and €3 from 12 years old. Book of 10 entries: €20
