How ? Horse milk products?
I was very surprised when Caroline told me that! But by learning the history of horses and the benefits that milk can bring to your life, you will, like me, want to buy them!

The species of the Trait Poitevin Mulassier horse was created in the XNUMXth century, when Dutch workers came to the Marais Poitevin. They were accompanied by heavy horses from Northern Europe.
The breed was born from the unnatural union of the Trait Poitevin mare with the Baudet du Poitou. It is a horse with elongated forms with a long neck with a full mane and powerful limbs furnished with large and abundant hair. He measures between 1,60 and 1,70, with an average weight of 750Kg.

The breeding of Mauberts

The breeding was born thanks to Caroline's affection for this breed. It is located in Les Lèves-et-Thoumeyragues and has about ten horses, including 4 dairy mares and a stallion, the rest being made up of foals and young females.
In addition to breeding, Caroline owns around ten hectares of vines in AOC Bordeaux and Bordeaux Supérieur, three hectares of cereals which provide animal feed, as well as around twenty hectares of meadows. Its activity has been certified organic.

Milk

Mare's milk dates back to 2000 BC, considered a drink of health and longevity by the Mongolian people. It has been used for therapeutic purposes to treat tuberculosis. This is how the use of mare's milk and its reputation have crossed borders.

Its composition is close to that of women's milk, which makes it interesting for human consumption.

Milking begins 2 to 3 months after birth, as soon as the mare begins to be able to feed herself. It happens every 3 hours and only twice a day. The mare on the 2 milkings gives between 2,5 to 3 liters of milk.

The manufacture of cosmetics

Cosmetics are made in a small laboratory in the Landes. They respect the specifications of the organic label and are composed of at least 20% fresh milk.
The soaps are made by the cold saponification method, made from vegetable oils, natural and organic butters and minerals and include at least 10% fresh mare's milk.

The main interest of mare's milk is that it calms eczematous and psoriatic skin, and gives you hydrated skin. However, they remain particular products by their originality and their rarity.

Do not hesitate to meet Caroline, a woman passionate about her business and waiting for one thing, to innovate!
